Yeovil snap up Watford teenage defender Kiernan

Teenage Watford defender Rob Kiernan has joined Yeovil Town on loan for one month.

The 19-year-old will link up with Terry Skiverton's side as they prepare for the start of the League One season.

The defender has progressed through the ranks at Vicarage Road and spent the tail end of last season on loan north of the border with Kilmarnock, making two starts and two substitute appearances.

He will be unable to appear in the Carling Cup for the Glovers.

Kiernan made his first-team debut for Watford against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup in January 2009.

The defender capped an impressive season by being called up by the Republic of Ireland Under-19s squad.
