Stopper set to sign on?
The stopper spent the 2009-10 campaign as number two to Reading loan keeper Alex McCarthy.
Martin was released when his contract expired in March, but was invited to rejoin his old team-mates for pre-season training at the start of this month.
With Glovers' boss Terry Skiverton waiting to sign a first choice stopper, Martin has been given game time in matches against Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage, Swansea City and Manchester United.
The former Manchester City man starred in the second half against the Swans, making a string of saves to keep the score at 1-0 to the South Wales outfit.
Skiverton admitted he had been impressed by Martin and said he was in the running for a contract.
"He has done fantastically well and the supporters do not realise that in training he is unbelievable," said Skiverton.
"He is one that has got a chance as well. I let him come back and do a bit of training with us, but he has impressed me and we will have to see what happens.
"His attitude has been different class and with the pressure off of him I think he has come into his own, looking very good."
Skiverton added that he hoped to finalise his squad ahead of Saturday's final friendly match at npower League Two Torquay United.
He said: "There is a lot going on, there are a lot of phone calls taking place every day and it is getting a little bit later with certain players.
